Hi, I’m total new to powder coating.

I’m using a company to do the job for me at the moment but thinking of moving on and do it myself.

What is more important in the powder coating? Spray equipment or curing equipment?

I need to paint around 8 brake calipers (from a car) a week so not a massive job but the quality has to be superb, no time for bad finishes.

I was looking on Encore Manual spray system by Nordson. I can get it ex-display for £2000 ( I’m in UK ) and use normal kitchen oven installed in my garage.

Do i need such a high tech spray system to achieve best possible finish without a hassle? i have seen some system being sold for £200 but i guess is what you pay is what you get.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Regards

Thomas

Hey Thomas,

Joey is on vacation, but as soon as he gets back in town he will answer your question. Maybe some experienced powder coaters on the forum could help you answer your question. I think both are equally important if you want a great finish.

Thanks,

Jamie Johns
